The organisers of the SiGMA’19 iGaming expo in Malta have revealed it was their biggest event yet, with over 15,000 attendees.
The three-day expo, which featured conferences, workshops, a “high energy” expo floor and networking events, is widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading industry events.
Exhibitors from all over the world showcased cutting-edge games, software, and innovative industry solutions, while networking opportunities were plentiful throughout the three-day event.
Six thought-provoking conferences and workshops encouraged knowledge sharing and debate from key players in the industry, discussing subjects ranging from finance and blockchain solutions to tackling the brain drain, along with regulations and compliance and the relationship between esports and sportsbooks.
The annual SiGMA Start-Up Pitch offered investment opportunities and valuable advice to new businesses looking to make it big in the industry, as they competed for the top prize – which was eventually won by Bethereum for its blockchain-based social betting solution.
Activity continued long into the evenings with iGathering dinners, Malta’s first WBC World Title fight – courtesy of SiGMA, and a closing party hosted by Fashion TV Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Videoslots.
Reflecting on SiGMA’19, founder and CEO of SiGMA Group, Eman Pulis, commented:
“What an amazing show for all those involved! Now we’re looking ahead to 2020 and the launch of our super-expo in Asia in June 2020. With this new event in Manila, we’ve truly become a global brand in the iGaming industry and I can’t wait to introduce all our friends and partners from both East and West.”
The Manila expo is being organised in partnership with ICE Asia and PAGCOR, and will combine gambling and emerging tech, catering for both the land-based and iGaming sector, along with blockchain, AI and emerging technologies.
SiGMA says it is expecting more than 10,000 delegates from across Europe, the US and Asia, making it one of the biggest regional shows to bring together East and West.
AYO.NEWS says:
SiGMA really pulled out all the stops this year, even hiring a couple of helicopters to help delegates beat the notorious Maltese traffic! With this year presenting numerous challenges to the industry, and political events in Malta itself drawing so much decidedly negative international attention, it was fantastic to see SiGMA remind everyone why Malta is still such a vibrant international gaming and emerging tech hub.
