DAPPER LABS TO CREATE UFC TAMAGOTCHIS ON FLOW BLOCKCHAIN PLATFORM

CryptoKitties creator Dapper Labs has teamed up with mixed martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Dapper Labs says the licensing agreement, with the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion, will see it develop a “new digital experience” for fans. Specifically, they will get the opportunity to purchase, trade and own UFC-branded digital collectibles on Dapper Labs’ Flow – the company’s new consumer-facing blockchain experience platform.

Commenting on the partnership CEO of Dapper Labs, Roham Gharegozlou, said: “Flow makes it easy for any developer to build blockchain apps, games, and digital assets to power them. Working with the UFC, we are showing what’s possible when you give an engaged fanbase a real ownership stake in the game they love and the communities they’re a part of.”

While UFC Senior Vice President, Tracey Bleczinski, added: “UFC is thrilled to partner with Dapper Labs to offer a new form of digital collectibles to our global fanbase. UFC prides itself on being innovators in sports technology, and Flow is another way to provide our fans with the best entertainment experience.”

Apparently, the digital collectibles will be tokenised versions of UFC fighters, in the same vein as Tamagotchis, requiring fans to train them, and manage diets to qualify for different weight classes.

Flow is expected to launch before 2021, with development on UFC-branded digital collectibles starting within months.

AYO.NEWS says:

As we’ve said many times here at AYO.NEWS, blockchain technology is finally making a truly 100% digital parallel economy reality – one in which people can genuinely own and trade digital assets across platforms, freeing them from the shackles of being chained to specific developers and platforms. One day, your digital assets may be as important to your overall wealth as your physical assets.

Just last week we reported that The Sandbox (TSB) sold out of LAND within hours during its second presale – with 90% selling in the first hour.
