Major Malta-based cryptocurrency exchange Binance has launched a Visa debit card, accepted at more than 46 million merchants worldwide.
The card is said to work just like a regular bank-issued debit card, and can be topped up through the Binance Card App with Bitcoin (BTC) or BNB. When users make a purchase, the cost is simply deducted from the pre-loaded balance.
The card can be used at any of more than 46 million merchants offline and online, in 200 regions and territories.
According to Binance, the card is now available in a Beta virtual version, though a physical card will be introduced soon. The card is initially being released in Malaysia, and will be rolled out to more countries in the coming weeks.
People interested in obtaining a Binance card can register their interest in its landing page, and will be notified when it is released in their region.
AYO.NEWS says:
Though pre-paid crypto debit cards like this really do make cryptocurrency usable practically everywhere, on a day-to-day basis, and mean merchants don’t have to do anything new, their take-up in the current crypto market may be lacklustre.
