North American esports organisation Spacestation Gaming has entered sim racing, signing NASCAR driver Will Rodgers to drive in iRacing.

Driving a Spacestation-branded car, Rodgers will compete in the annual eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, and one-off events like the current eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series.

Commenting on the entry into sim racing, Spacestation Gaming’s Shaun “Shoduras” McBride, said:

“Traditional sports and esports can be incredibly similar, and eNascar proves that perfectly. Spacestation Gaming is excited to help build this new community and be longterm supporters of this rapidly growing scene.”

In real-world racing Rodgers drives in NASCAR’s second-tier Xfinity Series – though all real-life racing is currently suspended due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Utah-based Spacestation Gaming also competes in titles including Rainbow Six and Rocket League. Staying with the organisation and cars, last December the organisation partnered with iconic Mattel brand Hot Wheels to launch a co-branded diecast model car.
