SCIENTIFIC GAMES SECURES NEW 3-YEAR CONTRACT WITH LOTTO THÜRINGEN

Published

on

Scientific Games has been awarded a new three-year contract covering the provision of instant games to LOTTO Thüringen.

The central German operator is an existing partner of Scientific Games, but the new contract was won following a “competitive procurement process”, and covers instant games, which are scheduled to launch in 2021. An option to extend the contract by one year has also been included.

Commenting on the news LOTTO Thüringen CEO, Jochen Staschewski, said:

“We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Scientific Games and the sustainable growth of instant game revenues in Thuringia.

“This is one of the few lottery markets in Germany that continues to grow. Our growth is largely driven by instant products; therefore, we plan to further develop our portfolio of instant games sold at retail as well as offer our players digital instant games to enjoy at home and via mobile.”

While Scientific Games senior VP of instant products, John Schulz, added:

“We have offered LOTTO Thüringen instant game products with value adds that have proven ability to responsibly increase revenue for our lottery customers.”

Scientific Games also recently renewed contracts in the US states of Iowa and Connecticut.

Last month, Scientific Games issued an update regarding its corporate contingency programme, initiated due to the COVID-19 crisis.

AYO.NEWS says:

With ever-increasing competition from other forms of instant online entertainment and gratification, it’s vital that lottery providers step-up their game if they want to remain viable, so this deal makes a lot of sense for LOTTO Thüringen.

MGA TAPS 80’S SEX APPEAL & NOSTALGIA WITH SAMANTHA FOX SLOT

Published

on

MGA Games is playing on 1980’s sex appeal with its latest hyperrealistic offering, Samantha Fox.

The Spanish games developer has created a new slot starring the famous 80’s English teen idol, singer, actress and model. With a distinctly retro visual vibe, this title is aiming straight at the 40+ demographic, combining sex appeal and nostalgia.

Samantha was catapulted to fame by her song “Touch Me”, which hit the top spots in the UK and UK, along with 15 other countries worldwide, achieving 24 platinum, gold, and silver records. Of course, she’s also fondly remembered for her Page 3 appearances in British tabloids.

Earlier this month MGA Games released another sexy slot appealing to a distinctly different generation, featuring social media star Jessica Weaver, while in March it released a title featuring the “Queen of Instagram”, Abigail Ratchford

Staying with MGA Games, last week we reported the company’s line-up had gone live in Mexico through Betway.mx, the country’s most popular gaming platform.

AYO.NEWS says:

MGA are certainly splashing some cash developing these hyper-realistic, officially licensed titles, but will they have more than a passing appeal? Will the age old adage “sex sells” prove applicable to the world of slots, and will the social media stars manage to tempt younger generations to spend money on slots?

While we’re here, let’s not forget Samantha Fox’s finest moment – her appearance on Roland Rat: The Series, at the height of her career in the 1980s.

GiG is an important strategic partner for us, we look forward to continuing to work with them to bring industry-leading technology to the sector.”

AYO.NEWS says:

There’s no doubt that the online poker product has improved dramatically over the past few years, and the COVID-19 sports shutdown has given it a boost as operators search for alternatives to keep customers engaged. Will it last into the post-COVID-19 world though?

Staying with online poker, last month we caught up with Dmitry Starostenkov, CEO of EvenBet Gaming, to find out how the crisis was affecting business.

SVENSKA SPEL PLAYERS CAN NOW FUND VLT PLAY FROM SMARTPHONES

Published

on

Swedish gambling operator Svenska Spel has launched IGT’s cashless gaming product, allowing customers to fund their Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) from their smartphones.

Players logged into a Svenska Spel VTL will be able to withdraw funds from their bank accounts, via Swedish payment platform Swish, before approving it and funding their lottery play. According to IGT, it will pave the way for a new era of cashless gaming in Sweden.

Commenting on the launch IGT Senior Vice President and COO GTech International, Declan Harkin, said:

“Svenska Spel is at the forefront of innovation with IGT’s cashless gaming solution. This ground-breaking technology introduces a contemporary consumer experience to land-based gaming in one of the most progressive societies in the world.”

Svenska Spel now operates almost 5,000 IGT VLT’s in Sweden, with the first being installed in 2006.

Staying with Svenska Spel, last week we reported the operator had extended its partnership with the Swedish Sports Federation.

AYO.NEWS says:

It is almost certain that the COVID-19 crisis will accelerate the move towards cashless societies in many countries, so IGT’s technology could find plenty of demand over the coming years.

It’s also interesting to see how this kind of system is closing the gaps between land-based and online gambling – bringing the two together. After all, if you’re going to use a video terminal, and you’re going to pay cashless via your smartphone, it’s only a small step further to play completely online.

“We managed to achieve such a dazzling number of recent launches in Latin America thanks to our high-quality, constantly varying content. We also count with an incredible post-sales follow-up team and the latest gaming technologies —two of the features most valued by our partner operators.”

While Betway CEO, Anthony Werkman, added:

“MGA Games have a proven track record, and we are especially delighted to work with them in Mexico. Their suite of games is one of the most innovative in the market, and we have every confidence MGA Games’ offering will be hugely popular with our players in Latin America.”

AYO.NEWS says:

As the mature European markets get ever more challenging, thanks to saturation and overregulation, MGA Games is just one of a flood of suppliers and operators now doubling down on their Latin American presence. And, with the company being native Spanish speakers, MGA is obviously very well-placed to capitalise on Latin American opportunities.

Staying with MGA Games, last week we reported the company had partnered with Californian model and social media influencer Jessica Walker, for the latest title in its Hyperrealism Series.
