Fortnite continues to dominate Twitch, with more than half a million streamers in May. 

According to Statista data compiled by GoldenCasinoNews, the Epic Games title had approximately 580,000 streamers on Twitch in May, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ranked second, with nearly 404,000 streamers. 

In third place was recently launched Valorant, with over 385,000 streamers, while stalwarts League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive took fourth and fifth places, with 232,000 and 200,000 streamers respectively. 

In addition to taking the top spot in terms of streamers, Fortnite also saw a surge in viewers. The platform saw an average of 72,000 Fortnite viewers in January 2020, but between March and May that number jumped to more than 165,000 viewers. However, Statista data shows that the online multiplayer game hit 623,000 peak viewers on Twitch in May. 

That resulted in more than 122 million hours of Fortnite watched on Twitch in May alone – up from 53.8 million hours in January.

Of course, one of the things that makes Fortnite appealing is its light-hearted fantasy aesthetic – which was probably the perfect antidote for the lockdown blues.
