VENN REVEALS IMPRESSIVE MULTI-PLATFORM INITIAL DISTRIBUTION LINE-UP

VENN, the Video Game Entertainment and News Network, has revealed details of its distribution line-up, including digital and connected TV streaming platforms.

Launching worldwide on 5 August 2020, VENN will provide first-of-its-kind 24/7 premium content for free, giving instant access to top tier shows designed by gamers, for gamers.

The channel will be available via VENN.tv and to more than 30 million households across owned channels on some of the most easily accessible digital destinations, with initial platform partners including Twitch (WatchVENN), YouTube (WatchVENN), Facebook Gaming (WatchVENN), and Twitter (@watchvenn).

Looking forward to launch Head of Gaming Content Partnerships at Twitter, Rishi Chadha, said:

“We’re proud to welcome VENN as the first gaming television network to broadcast 24/7 live on Twitter. Bringing round the clock gaming content to our audience for the first time needed the right partner, and VENN’s celebration of diverse digital pop culture and personalities is a natural fit.

“Gamers on Twitter will now have the opportunity to watch, and engage with, live programming within the same feed, continuing the tradition of Twitter as the home of the gaming & pop culture conversation.”

Throughout August VENN will expand to a variety of additional hardware and connected-TV platforms, including VIZIO Watch Free, Xumo, STIRR, and Distro TV.

Commenting on the news Vice President of Business Development at VIZIO, Katherine Pond, said:

“At VIZIO, we are dedicated to delivering the best content with superior picture quality for VIZIO SmartCast users to search, watch and discover.

“With VENN’s 24/7 gaming television channel, all SmartCast users can access the latest gaming, pop culture, and esports content right from the VIZIO home screen. VIZIO’s 2021 SmartCast TV product line, shipping now, boasts an all-new gaming engine which together with our distribution of VENN delivers gaming consumers a perfect solution.”

More distribution partners across digital, linear, free ad-supported streaming TV services, and virtual MVPDs, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Details of VENN’s extensive distribution network follows the roll-out of its slate of original content and talent, including series featuring fan favourites James “Dash” Patterson, Austin Show, Chrissy Costanza, The Sushi Dragon, Cash Nasty, and Sasha Grey.

AYO.NEWS says:

With so many distributors we don’t think anyone will be able to accuse VENN of being difficult to access! But, with so many different viewing platforms available today, it’s important to secure as wide a footprint as possible, and VENN is definitely doing that.

It’s going to be interesting to see how viewership ends up being distributed across the platforms. It’s easy to assume Twitch and Facebook Gaming will lead the pack, given their existing native gamer user base, but who knows, maybe VENN will throw up a few surprises?
