FLORIDA’S AQUATIK ESPORTS LAUNCHES NEW SCOUTING PLATFORM
Florida-based organisation Aquatik Esports has launched the Aquatik Alliance scouting platform.
Designed to help organisations scout and develop aspiring players, the new platform will host various dedicated scouting tournaments across several titles – the first being the Big Time College Tournament for VALORANT, presented by gaming peripherals brand Corsair, which starts today, 8 January, and will involve 13 schools and a feature a $6K USD prize pool.
Discussing the initiative Managing Director at Aquatik Esports, Andrew Bouley, said:
“Our feeder initiative and our ‘Big Time College Tournament’ emphasises Aquatik’s core mantra to bring ‘Esports to Everyone’. The specific need for these core concepts within the esports ecosphere has been demonstrated by our rapid and sustainable growth.
“Regardless if someone is a beginner, a student, or has been grinding for years, Aquatik has a programme to help them achieve their esports goals both on a professional and personal level. We have exciting plans on how we will continue to evolve these programmes and initiatives over the next year.”
Founded in March 2020, Aquatik Esports has rapidly grown its audience reach to 40M (according to iconosquare analytics), forged partnerships with computer gaming brand AORUS, peripherals manufacturer Razer, and gaming nutrition brand BUILT, and established the online gaming store 7Seas.
Its weekly ‘Community Mashup’ tournament series, which eliminates many common barriers for gamers, and provides them with quick and easy access to authentic cash-pool tournament experiences, has proven particularly popular, while its monthly and seasonal tournaments attract all skill levels, including elite participants.
In December 2020, Aquatik appointed Rob Born, former Game Informer Associate Publisher, as its Vice President of Sales and Sponsorships.
