ESPORTS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF ESPORTS GAMING LEAGUE

Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has completed its acquisition of Esports Gaming League (EGL). 

The esports entertainment and gambling operator announced its intention to acquire the esports events organiser, which has more than 350K gamers registered for its online tournament platform, back in August 2020. 

EGL also provides full turnkey esports events solutions, live broadcast production, game launches, and online branded tournaments.

Discussing the news Esports Entertainment Group CEO, Grant Johnson, said:

“EGL is a great addition to our growing operations and further strengthens our ability to execute on our three-pillar strategy.

“EGL technology underpins the esports programs for some of the world’s best-known sports franchises, including the LA Kings, Philadelphia Eagles and Arsenal Football Club. We plan to build on this strong foundation moving forward, driving near-term revenue growth and long-term shareholder value improvement.”

 

While EGL CEO, Glen Elliott, added:

“As part of the Esports Entertainment Group family, we now have the opportunity to push our technology and resources to further grow our client roster. We have been impressed with Grant’s leadership and vision and are excited to become an integral part of Esports Entertainment Group’s drive to become the industry leader.”

 

EEG provides esports entertainment and infrastructure, esports wagering, and iGaming, and maintains offices in New Jersey, the United Kingdom, and Malta. 

Towards the end of 2020, the company also announced the $43M USD acquisition of US gaming centre operator Helix Esports, and esports infrastructure company ggCircuit
