HANDBALL LEGEND BRUNO MARTINI JOINS TEAM VITALITY AS ESPORTS GENERAL MANAGER

French esports organisation Team Vitality has appointed Paris Saint-Germain handball legend, Bruno Martini, as its new Esports General Manager. 

Martini is an ex-professional handball player who represented France twice in the Olympics, in addition to winning two World Championships with the French National team. 

Prior to joining Team Vitality, he spent eight years as General Manager of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) handball team, where he oversaw its transition from Paris Handball to one of the top performing teams in Europe. Under his leadership, PSG won 17 titles, and set numerous national and international records. 

In his new role with Team Vitality, Martini will be leading the performance infrastructure across all of the organisation’s esports rosters, overseeing the player performance philosophy and program, and incorporating both physical and mental wellness. 

Discussing his appointment, Team Vitality’s new General Manager, Bruno Martini, said:

“There are so many important factors to performance, team spirit, fitness, mental health support, etc. and what’s essential is that our players are convinced that this will make them play better, and play better as a team.

“This is my first role in esports, and I was hugely impressed by the Team Vitality brand and the infrastructure they already have in place. I’m very excited for this new challenge of bringing my experience in building performance structures around professional sportsmen to esports players.”

While President & Co-Founder of Team Vitality, Fabien “Neo” Devide, added:

“We take performance incredibly seriously at Team Vitality, of course in-game, but our players are professional competitors, and to perform at the highest possible level we need to give them every advantage.

“I was looking for former professional sportsmen with experience in management, and I couldn’t have hoped to find someone with a resume as impressive as Bruno’s. I cannot wait to see what he brings to Team Vitality.”

Team Vitality currently competes at the highest levels across seven major esports titles, including CS:GO, League of Legends, FIFA, Rocket League, Rainbow Six: Siege, Fortnite, and F1.

Earlier this week, the organisation also unveiled a partnership with Philips Monitors for its FIFA team. The agreement will see the team supplied with, and play exclusively on, the top-of-the-range Philips Momentum range. The company’s branding will also be featured on the FIFA team’s official jerseys, and both parties will collaborate on tailored content. 

The organisation also recently announced a partnership with US tech company Garmin, which will see its supplied with the Instinct® Esports Edition watch, and involve collaboration on future product development.
