CAMSODA FIGHTS LOCKDOWN BLUES BY SYNCING SEX TOYS & FAST FOOD
The ongoing COVID-19 crisis has led to an explosion in digital entertainment and dining at home, but now adult entertainment platform CamSoda is taking things to the next level with the launch of Grubuzz.
Grubuzz is a new technology that harnesses the power of Internet-connected sex toys – aka teledildonics – and sends clitoral vibrations to people as their takeout food from a national chain or local favorite is being prepared and ultimately delivered.
The frequency of vibrations increase through the food delivery process. So, for example, the vibration frequency starts slowly when someone’s order is received by the restaurant and progressively increases when the driver leaves the restaurant with the order, drives closer to their residence, arrives at their door, etc.
“People have been stuck at home for over a year now. They have grown accustomed to ordering takeout food from their favorite restaurants regularly. Quarantine cravings are real and so too is the COVID-19 delivery food boom,” said Daryn Parker, Vice President of CamSoda. “In addition to the rise in food delivery, there has been a spike in teledildonic usage. Here at CamSoda we figured we’d combine these popular activities and produce a technology that gets people off while their food delivery order is being prepared and ultimately delivered. With Grubuzz, not only will your mouth be watering while your order is being processed, but so too will your private parts. What better way to eat some of your favorite food from Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse or P.F. Chang’s then after you’ve orgasmed?!”
Here’s how Grubuzz works:
Users will obtain a curated email address from CamSoda, which they will then plug into their favorite delivery apps, including GrubHub, Uber Eats, Caviar, DoorDash and Postmates, among others. When an email is sent from their delivery app updating them on the status of their order, it will be sent to the CamSoda-generated email, which will simultaneously set off a vibration to their teledildonic device.
The frequency of vibrations increase through the food delivery process. So, for example, the vibration frequency starts slowly when someone’s order is received by the restaurant and progressively increases when the driver leaves the restaurant with the order, drives closer to their residence, arrives at their door, etc.
According to recent data, the four top U.S. food-delivery apps – DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub and Postmates – saw their revenue rise by $3 billion in the second and third quarters of 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic required shelter-in-place restrictions. The four companies raked in roughly $5.5 billion in combined revenue from April through September, more than twice as much as their combined $2.5 billion in revenue during the same period last year.
In addition, ahead of restaurants opening at full capacity, CamSoda plans to integrate this technology into the hosting stations of popular restaurant chains across the country. The company would like to help eliminate the need for bulky and outdated handheld trackers that are hoarders of germs and bacteria, and replace them with teledildonic vibrations.
Through this technology, diners wearing their teledildonic device out of the house can receive a vibration notifying them when their table is ready at their favorite restaurant instead of waiting for the tracker to buzz in their hand.
CamSoda is initially launching Grubuzz for females only. A male version will debut in the coming months.
The launch of Grubuzz follows previous launches by the adult entertainment company within the food delivery industry. In 2018, CamSoda launched RubGrub, a vibrator that ordered food for users following an orgasm, starting with a large cheese pizza from Domino’s.
The offering was made possible with an Internet programmable Bluetooth button (similar to the Amazon Dash Button) designed to fit on a Lovense Nora vibrator. The button had payment/delivery and order information, which was programmed into it at the time of purchase and connected to Domino’s through its pizza-ordering API. When a user was done “using” the vibrator, they pushed the button, which placed a delivery order for a large cheese pizza.
