SOFTWEAVE LAUNCHES WINAFAR REMOTE LAND-BASED SLOT PRODUCT IN CANADA

iGaming software developer, Softweave, has announced it is launching its Winafar product in the Canadian market for the first time. 

Winafar enables players to play at real-life, physical slot machines, located on real casino floors, remotely from computers and mobile devices. 

The company says its system can be installed on any land-based slot machine, and uses a camera and microphone to capture the image of the reels and genuine sounds. The Winafar box is plugged into the cabinet, and allows players to control the machine remotely from their computer, smartphone, or tablet. 

The Canadian launch is being conducted in partnership with local distributor RBY Gaming, and will give land-based operators the chance to offer a unique experience. Modified slot machines can be played via a dedicated website, or added to the game lobby of an existing online casino. 

Softweave debuted Winafar in New Jersey last year, and says the product was an instant hit with players. Winafar was named Product Innovation of the Year at both the EGR B2B Awards and the EGR North America Awards 2020.

On the surface, it seems unlikely that anyone would really get more satisfaction from playing a land-based slot remotely compared to a pure online slot – with the atmosphere of the casino not exactly captured by a camera just pointed at a screen.
