G2 PAYS HOMAGE TO DEFEATED FOES WITH ‘SALTY TEARS’ FLAVOUR PRINGLES
G2, one of the world’s leading entertainment and esports brands, today announces the launch of a brand-new, Salty Tears flavoured crisps in partnership with Pringles.
The flavour draws inspiration from the ‘ocean of tears’ which G2’s opponents have shed in the moment of defeat. The team at Pringles worked hard to pinpoint the exact salt flavour that most-closely evoked the anguish felt by rivals upon losing to G2. Working with its food developers, the brand was able to manage the salt content effectively whilst also bringing this unique flavour to life.
Pringles x G2 Salty Tears® is the result of months of extensive research and flavour development that worked with rival teams to pinpoint the right salty flavour for the perfect esport snack.
In a rare instance of collaboration across team hostilities, Pringles was able to build a key salty flavour profile by workshopping the various combinations of saltiness which came from some crushing defeats delivered by G2.
Taking inspiration from JKnapps clutch goal, the unexpected and immensely effective Senna / Sion combo from Rekkles and Mikyx, or Patitek “congratulating” an enemy player, Pringles was able to recapture the anguish of G2’s opponents with every bite.
Carlos ‘ocelote’ Roriguez, CEO of G2 Esports comments: “Our rivals have shed oceans of tears across many crushing defeats from G2. So we’ve decided to put these tears to good use, in the form of one of the world’s favourite crisps, Pringles. Our partners at Pringles made the magic happen and now we’re proud to announce G2 Salty Tears®, a snack out there for fans to enjoy and savour that sweet taste of success.”
Francesca Wilson, Brand Manager of Promotions and Partnership from Pringles comments: “We know gaming fans love eating Pringles while they play and we couldn’t be more excited to launch a new flavour with G2. Pringles x G2 Salty Tears® took months of trials before we achieved the perfect flavour and we’re sure fans will love celebrating victories with it.”
