G4 WELCOMES ALEX ‘GOLDENBOY’ MENDEZ AS ON-AIR TALENT
Soon to officially relaunch gaming network, G4, has announced Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez as its newest on-air cast member.
Mendez, who also lends his voice talents to NBC’s The Titan Games, is a well-known esports personality with more than a slight comedic bent. During his reign as MVP of competitive gaming, he’s also appeared with Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch League, Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale, Cheddar TV, TBS’ ELEAGUE, Major League Gaming, and plenty more.
Regarding his new position, Goldenboy himself chimed in with: “I was glued to the TV watching G4 as a kid, and it was one of the early inspirations for me to pursue my career in esports. I hope to be able to give back to the new G4 community that helped mold me and help gamers and entertainers find their voice through our content. I’m so excited to work with Ovilee and Frosk on their esports show, and can’t wait to unveil some of the other fun projects I’ll be working on in the gaming culture space.”
While Kevin Sabbe, Head of Content at G4, added: “Alex ‘Goldenboy’ Mendez has established himself as one of the most notable and well-respected figures in esports and gaming. We’re excited to give him the opportunity to further showcase his skills in esports while also providing the platform to try new things and have a blast doing it.”
Last week G4 announced that WWE Superstar Xavier Woods, aka Austin Creed, will be hosting a weekly video game competition series premiering this fall.
