COMPLEXITY-LIMIT, RAIDER.IO, AND KEYSTONE MASTERS DEBUT “MYTHIC+ CHARITY PRO-AM”

Complexity-Limit, the world’s #1 raiding World of Warcraft (WoW) guild and partner of Complexity Gaming; Raider.IO, the WoW player-vs-environment (PvE) platform; and Keystone Masters, the largest community tournament organizer in WoW,  have announced the Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am, a first-of-its-kind World of Warcraft charity tournament. 

Taking place on May 15, the one-day event will feature top pros, influencers, and amateur players from the WoW community as they go head-to-head in dungeon runs to raise money and awareness for a variety of charities. 

“The Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am is the perfect opportunity to raise visibility and funding for some important charitable causes,” said Sören Vendsahm, General Manager, Complexity Gaming. “By combining the skill of elite WoW players, the global reach of top influencers, and the passion behind the WoW community, we’re able to create a fun, engaging event for everyone involved.”

Participating teams, comprising two professional players, two amateur players, and one community member or influencer, will attempt to conquer a series of dungeon runs, a PvE activity challenging groups to take down select bosses, as fast as possible with minimal deaths.

Each team, competing on behalf of an approved charity beneficiary, will race against their opponents to win their share of the charity prize pool of $10,000. The prize pool will be distributed based on each team’s placement at the conclusion of the event, with all eight teams earning a portion for their respective charities.

Viewers and fans can also support these non-profits by donating directly during the live stream. Participating charities include the Equal Justice Initiative, Girls Who Code, AbleGamers, U.S.VETS, and The Trevor Project. 

“Charity Pro-Ams have been a staple of traditional sports for many years, but not something that has been widely adopted by the esports industry,” said Jah Raphael, Chief Executive Officer, Raider.IO. “We believe this format will be well-received amongst World of Warcraft and esports fans alike, and give us a way to raise money for some incredible causes doing important work.”

The Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am competition will be held entirely on Tournament Realms, a dedicated server provided by Blizzard Entertainment, where event organizers can specify rule sets and players can compete on an even playing field. 

Raider.IO and Keystone Masters will provide a critical layer of tournament operations, broadcast production, and administrative support. Twitch will provide promotional support of the event broadcast as well as contribute a donation to the prize pool. 

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, whose Video Games & Esports Group is at the forefront of the rapidly converging worlds of esports, video games, and entertainment, will be sponsoring the event and will be featured throughout the broadcast.
