Blockchain gaming company Sorare has been selected by the Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab’s program to bring its new fantasy football game to fans worldwide.

A blockchain-based platform enabling football fans to collect, trade and play with officially licensed limited edition digital trading cards, Sorare is currently in open beta. Already officially licensed by 30 football clubs, the company says dozens more will be joining shortly.

Commenting on the news CEO of Sorare, Nicolas Julia, said:

By using blockchain technology the Sorare platform enables digital cards to be true limited editions, with real scarcity, and allows them to be freely and securely traded.

The game also features a weekly fantasy football experience where managers can put together teams of five blockchain cards and earn rewards. Managers are ranked based on the performance of their players on the pitch, earning bonus points related to the power of their blockchain cards.
