888 LAUNCHES NEW JERSEY ONLINE SPORTSBOOK

888 has launched an online sportsbook in New Jersey, further cementing its relationship with Caesars Entertainment.

888 has got in on the American sports betting action with the launch of its 888sport in New Jersey.

A Kambi-powered sportsbook, 888sport offers a wide range of sports betting markets on mobile, tablet and desktop, and is integrated with 888’s poker and casino products, sharing logins and wallets.

The launch of 888sport further cements the firm’s already close ties with Caesars Entertainment, whose license it will operate under, and puts both brands in a strong position to rapidly grow in the US market as the various states pass legislation.

888 has been improving its New Jersey casino offering, introducing over 200 new games in the last few months, and adding the state to its interstate poker network alongside Nevada and Delaware. Yaniv Sherman, 888’s head of commercial development, has also relocated to be based at their New Jersey office.

888 chief executive Itai Freiberger said:

“The launch of 888sport.com in New Jersey is a major milestone for the company in our ongoing expansion across the regulated US online gaming market and provides 888 with a unique and truly multi-product proposition in what is currently the largest regulated US state,

“888 has been committed to developing its position in the US since launching in Nevada, the first regulated US state, nearly six years ago and today we are the only operator with a presence in all three regulated US states. We now have our sport, casino and poker products all operational in the US and are continually developing our proposition, brands and technology to ensure that the group remains exceptionally well positioned to capture the potentially significant future growth opportunities as new regulation allows.”

Despite this development, the share price of London-listed 888 Holdings plc set a 52-week low of 221.20 pence per share on Monday morning.
