Canada-based OverActive Media, owner of Splyce and Toronto Defiant, appoints Robin Brudner and Wade Oosterman to board of directors.

Canada-based OverActive Media, owner of Splyce, Toronto Defiant, MAD Lion EC and OAM LIVE, has made two new executive board appointments, in the form of Robin Brudner and Wade Oosterman.

Brudner was previously with Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment and the Canadian Olympic Committee, and Oosterman is Vice Chair and Group President at Bell Canada and BCE.

Welcoming the duo to the board, President and CEO at OverActiveMedia, Chris Overholt, said:

“Robin and Wade are without a doubt two of Canada’s most-respected business and sports executives. Adding their vast experience and counsel to our Board furthers our commitment to continue building the most professional esports and entertainment company in the world. While Brudner commented:

And, Oosterman added:

In June this year, OverActive Media announced a partnership with Bell, Canada’s largest communications company, which has resulted in it taking a minority interest and becoming its founding marketing partner.

Its been a busy few months for OverActive, acquiring esports events company MediaXP (read more), and Spanish esports organisation MAD Lions EC (read more).

The company has also continued to attract high profile investments, including from Grammy Award-winning record artist Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Miami hospitality guru David Grutman (read more).

In May, the company also announced the appointment of former Weston Foods CFO, Jason Toledano, as new Chief Financial Officer (read more).

In all, OverActive now owns 15 esports teams in 7 countries, including franchised leagues.
