Streaming platform Caffeine has signed an exclusive partnership with American rapper Offset.
The agreement between 21st Century Fox-backed Caffeine and rapper and songwriter, Kiari Kendrell “Offset” Cephus, will see the artist star in two shows on his own Caffeine channel.
Premiering on 27th October will be a show featuring Offset streaming his favourite video games and checking out new titles based on fans’ chat suggestions, while a second show called ‘Bet with Set’ will see the rapper and celebrity guests compete in high stakes challenges.
Commenting on the partnership, Offset said:
“With Caffeine, I can create my content in an organic way that lets me make real connections with my community.
“They have created new technology that takes the lag out of online interactions and it makes me reachable in a way that other platforms simply can’t. Caffeine allows me to be myself so I’m trying to reach these kids to show them that everybody is a part of a team and we’re all one”
Co-founded by former Apple designers Ben Keighran and Sam Roberts, Caffeine raised over $46 million in two funding rounds in 2016, and a further $100 million from 21st Century Fox.
The platform now has streaming partnerships in place with CORSAIR, DreamHack (read more), Dignitas, ESL, FACEIT, FOX Sports, League of Legends Championship Series (read more), Natus Vincere and others.
Offset is also part of the ownership group North American esports organisation FaZe Clan (read more).
