Indian gaming solutions and esports company NODWIN Gaming has appointed Sidharth Kedia as its new CEO.
Kedia, who was previously deputy chief commercial officer at Viacom 18, will report to NODWIN’s Managing Director, Akshat Rathee, and board. Rather than working from the company’s main HQ in Gurugram, he will be opening its first regional office in Mumbai.
Viacom 18 is a joint venture between Indian television company TV 18 and US giant Viacom Inc. Last year NODWIN teamed up with Viacom 18 to bring DreamHack, the Swedish digital lifestyle festival, to India for the very first time. A second DreamHack India event is taking place from 6-8th December in New Delhi.
Welcoming Kedia to NODWIN, Rathee said:
“It’s an exciting time for the firm as the overall esports scene in India is on the cusp of exponential growth.
“With his rich experience in the media, entertainment, technology, and investment sectors coupled with his in-depth understanding of the gaming space and his proficiency in scaling businesses, I’m confident [Sid’s] leadership will provide the fuel that will propel esports and NODWIN Gaming to the next level.”
Kedia launched his information systems advisory career with Ernst & Young back in 1998, before joining General Electric’s (GE) finance management program a year later, and then taking up a position in GE’s consumer finance division in Mumbai in 2002.
