Canada-based Amuka Esports has acquired fighting game community (FGC) tournament organiser Incendium Gaming.
A company specialising in creating local esports hubs – each consisting of a venue, organiser, content team, merch brands and incubator – for casual gamers across North America, Amuka Esports has acquired Incendium as part of its strategy to cultivate niche gaming communities.
Since being founded in 2019, Canada-based Incendium Gaming has hosted twenty events, specialising in fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Street Fighter, and Tekken 7, and has been contracted to produce tournaments for GOML (Get On My Level) and World Gaming.
The company has also hosted events including Capcom Pro Tour Ranking event Armor Break, and Tekken World Tour Challenger event, Electric Clash.
Discussing the acquisition Co-Founder of Incendium Gaming, Vince Hui, said:
“My whole life I’ve had a passion for fighting games and sharing that passion with friends. So when we started Incendium, the goal was always to build the best possible community that catered to our loyal fighters while creating a welcoming environment for new gamers. Being part of the Amuka Esports eco-system will give us the ability to strengthen our current line-up events and expand to new markets we weren’t able to be in before.”
Commenting on the acquisition CEO of Amuka Esports, Ben Feferman, said:
“The Incendium team exude a passion and love for fighting games that is infectious and their events create an energy that I’ve never seen before. We are so excited to be working with Vince, Drew and Roshawn in creating more world-class events.”
Over the past few months Amuka Esports has been very busy, launching esports incubator Level SIX and acquiring esports content and lifestyle brand Organised Gaming, along with Canadian esports venue Waves E-Gaming.
AYO.NEWS says:
Its good to see investment in the fighting game community (FGC) – a popular niche that doesn’t get anywhere near as much attention as it deserves right now. We’re sure the resources of Amuka and enthusiasm of Incendium will make for a winning combination.
