US-based cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has appointed Marco Santori as new chief legal officer (CLO).

An experienced lawyer, Santori has a wealth of experience covering litigating, advising and law creation in the cryptocurrency industry, was previously President and Chief Legal Officer at Blockchain.com, and has been part of New York law firms Cooley LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.

Additionally, Santori has acted as an advisor to the International Monetary Fund, been blockchain ambassador for the US state of Delaware, and been chairman of the Regulatory Affairs Committee of the Bitcoin Foundation.

Santori was also one of the authors of SAFT Project’s paper “Toward a Compliant Token Sale Framework” – a document that has played a key part in informing US regulators regarding initial coin offerings (ICOs).
