According to the latest Google data, Africans and South Americans are most interested in Bitcoin (BTC).
Recent Google Trends data compiled by Blockchaincenter.net reveals the ‘Top 10 Most Bitcoin Maximalist Countries’ as Kenya, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Nigeria, South Africa, Argentina, Germany, Morocco, and Poland. While the ‘Top 10 Altcoin Countries’ are Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Pakistan, Venezuela, Ireland, and Slovenia.
Overall, the data shows that Bitcoin (BTC) is still by far the most searched for cryptocurrency in all countries worldwide. Interestingly, the market cap ranking didn’t mirror the search volume ranking – illustrated by the fact that Dogecoin doesn’t even make it into the top 30 by market cap, but is tenth most searched for cryptocurrency.
South America seems to be the most enthusiastic continent when it comes to Bitcoin (BTC), with four of its nations making the top ten, while Eastern Europe and Asia are apparently most open to altcoins, and Germany is bucking the trend as the only country with more interest in IOTA than Ethereum.

AYO.NEWS says:
With both Africa and South America having more than their fair share of ‘troubled’ economies, it’s perhaps not surprising that people and companies are increasingly turning to cryptocurrencies in the search for stability and safety.
Of course, although the crypto scene in both Africa and South America is dominated by the big cryptos like Bitcoin, there are some interesting home-grown projects too. For example, last month we reported how Zimbocash is offering Zimbabweans the chance to escape the grip of the hyperinflation that is still plaguing the country.
Meanwhile, in South America, Colombian startup Valiu has launched a Bitcoin-backed synthetic US dollar to help Venezuelan migrant workers send money home safely and without losing a significant amount of value due to hyperinflation.
