Chinese streaming giant HUYA has acquired broadcast rights to ESL CS:GO and Dota 2 events. 

The one-year agreement, between tournament organisers ESL and DreamHack and streaming platform HUYA, covers exclusive Mandarin and other Chinese language broadcasts of the CS:GO Pro Tour and selected Dota 2 tournaments.

Specifically, the deal covers all upcoming tournaments from the ESL Pro Tour, including the ESL Pro League circuit, ESL One tournaments, and Intel Extreme Masters Events, in addition to DreamHack CS:GO and Dota 2 tournaments. The first event HUYA will broadcast under the deal will be ESL One Cologne 2020. 

Previous negotiations between Modern Times Group (MTG), the parent company of ESL and DreamHack, and HUYA regarding a joint venture collapsed in January 2020. 

HUYA, whose largest shareholder is now Tencent, has been expanding its footprint in western markets recently, having entered or renewed partnerships with Peru-based tournament organiser Live Media, along with Team Liquid and Team Secret.
