MISFITS GAMING GROUP STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH NBA TEAMS MIAMI HEAT & ORLANDO MAGIC
Florida-based esports organisation Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) has expanded its partnership with NBA teams Miami HEAT and Orlando Magic.
The new strategic rights partnership will see the three Florida-based organisations work together to explore and develop new opportunities, in both the endemic and non-endemic space.
Discussing the news SVP of Partnerships for Misfits Gaming Group, Lagen Nash, said:
“The Miami HEAT and the Orlando Magic are innovators in sports, and we’re incredibly proud to expand our relationship and kick off the first year of a strategic partnership together. This partnership lays the foundation for Florida’s premier NBA and esports franchises to bring together specialist market knowledge and to raise the profile of esports in Florida.”
While Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for Miami Heat, Glen Oskin, added:
“We’ve been a partner of MGG from its early stages and have been proud to watch it grow into one of the premier franchises in esports. This new partnership including the Orlando Magic allows MGG and our partners to increase their visibility throughout the state of Florida while allowing Florida’s NBA franchises to further extend our footprint in the esports space. It’s a win-win situation for all of us.”
And, Vice President of Partnership Activation and Strategy with Orlando Magic, J.T. McWalters, commented:
“The Orlando Magic is thrilled to team up with the Miami HEAT and Misfits Gaming on this first-of-its-kind partnership. As we work towards being esports leaders in the state of Florida, we will join forces to assist esports brands in targeting new revenue opportunities and strategic partnerships in the market.”
HEAT Check Gaming and Magic Gaming, the NBA 2K League franchises of the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic, will be leveraged to help MGG to connect with NBA partners and fans, while MGG will be helping its NBA partners reach new audiences through its brand equity across several esports including Overwatch League, Call of Duty League, League of Legends European Championship, and Fortnite.
AYO.NEWS says:
MGC obviously already has a great relationship with Miami Heat and Orlando magic, and it’s great to see yet more synergies between the esports and traditional sports worlds. We’re sure all parties will end up attracting new partners and forging promising relationships on the back of this extended partnership.
Staying with Misfits Gaming Group, in May the organisation announced a partnership with supplementary provider Destined 2 Dominate, while in April it extended its commercial reach through an agreement with revenue amplification platform Playwire.
