Jordanian organisation FATE Esports is set to launch a fan engagement app via Blocksport. 

The collaboration with the Swiss-based SportsTech company, will result in an app offering fans team-related games, discounts, experiences, and other exclusive benefits.

Though organisations from around the world have already launched engagement apps via Blocksport, including Russia’s Virtus.pro, and Brazils’ FURIA, FATE is the first esports organisation in the Middle East to embrace this kind of gamified fan engagement.

FATE Esports was founded in 2017, and is now active in team management, player scouting, event organisation, talent management, and live broadcasting. Currently, the organisation has commercial partnerships with HyperX and Orange, and fields rosters in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Tekken 7.

Though it seemed Socios.com, from Malta-based Chiliz, was looking strongest in terms of its fan engagement platform for a while, with its tokenised voting offering, Blocksport really seems to be taking a lead when it comes to esports organisations now. 

Staying with Blocksport, last month the company announced the appointment of former IBM Vice President, Heinrich Zetlmayer, to its board of directors.
