POINTSBET TEAMS UP WITH DETROIT PISTONS & NBA LEGEND RIP HAMILTON

Online betting operator PointsBet has teamed up with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons, and basketball legend “Rip” Hamilton.  

The Pistons deal gives PointsBet the rights to use the team’s IP, logos and marks, and also covers brand visibility and various sponsorship opportunities. This will include limited in-game signage that will be visible during broadcasts, along with branding on the Pistons’ official website and social media channels. 

Commenting on the partnership PointsBet USA CEO, Johnny Aitken, said:

NBA All-Star and former Pistons player Richard “Rip” Hamilton will serve as a brand ambassador for PointsBet’s Michigan-based sports betting offerings. Hamilton played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), with the Washington Wizards from 1999-2002, and with the Detroit Pistons from 2002-2011. 

The PointsBet sports wagering app is expected to launch in Michigan shortly, though fans in the state can already participate in the operators free-to-play challenge, the PointsBet Pick 6.  

Staying with PointsBet and American sports, in September 2020, the operator became the Chicago Bears’ (NFL) first ever sports betting partner.
