NINJAS IN PYJAMAS REVEAL INSPIRED BRAND TRANSFORMATION

Sweden’s Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) has become the latest esports organisation to rebrand.

The new visual identity has been heavily influenced by traditional Japanese aesthetics, and includes a new colour scheme, ditching the former black, gold, and brown palette, for a simpler, brighter combination of neon yellow and black, along with a new logotype, while the organisation’s iconic logo has also been given a subtle makeover.

According to NiP, the rebrand has been in the making for over twelve months, and has drawn input from several agencies, in an effort come up with an identity that reflects a “futuristic, powerful, and mysterious brand.”

Discussing the rebrand CEO of NiP, Hicham Chahine, said:

“For us who work at and play for NIP, being a Ninja is something special, it’s more than just a brand and we kept that in mind while creating this new narrative to deliver an unforgettable experience for our fans and partners all over the world.

“Ninjas fight as one, we have discipline, we stay calm and we inspire. A ninja can be everyone and we feel it’s important to create a story that anyone can connect with.”

While NiP Brand Manager, William Bul, added:

“We are very proud of our new brand platform and especially the new logotype as it is a huge step forward in terms of visual identity.

“Inside of the new Shuriken, is the old Japanese word Nin, which is the beginning of Ninja and means to apply ego and heart to the edge of the sword. We believe that intricate details like these are crucial to showcase and supply our fans with.”

NiP currently fields rosters in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Rainbow Six Siege, VALORANT, and FIFA.

AYO.NEWS says:

NiP joins Fnatic, Excel, Rogue, LCK, Panda Global, Dignitas, FunPlus Phoenix, Tundra, Evil Geniuses, and several other organisations that have rebranded over the past year, reflecting the increasing sophistication and importance of visual communications within the esports industry. NiP’s rebrand does seem more evolutionary than many, so we’re sure it won’t ruffle too many feathers among fans.
