FORD GETS BACK IN THE ESPORTS GAME WITH ROCKET LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The Ford Motor Company has been confirmed as a presenting sponsor for all Rocket League Championships Series (RLCS) X Winter Majors.
Rocket League developer Psyonix Studios has not revealed financial details of the agreement, but has said that Ford branding will appear on broadcasts and other content, and has promised in-game surprises.
The next competition, scheduled for 5 February, will now be called the RLCS X Winter Major Driven by Ford.
Staying with Rocket League, last week Psyonix announced a partnership with the X Games in Aspen, Colorado, which concludes on 31 January.
AYO.NEWS says:
Out of the major car companies, Ford has been conspicuously absent from the esports scene, with its last major involvement being the European esports racing team Fordzilla, which was launched back in 2019.
With even old school American brands like Cadillac now building their esports presence, and a number of European and Asian marques heavily invested in the scene, has Ford finally woken up and smelled the coffee?
