LAMBORGHINI IGNITES ROCKET LEAGUE PARTNERSHIP
Italian supercar marque Lamborghini has partnered with Rocket League developer Psyonix.
The collaboration will see Lamborghini sponsor the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) X Lamborghini Open, along with a brand new event, Battle of the Bulls.
Set to kick off on 23 April, the tournament will be Rocket League’s final North American regional event for the Spring Season, and will see the debut of the Battle of the Bulls event, a series of five one-on-one matchups. Battle of the Bulls winners will net $5K each, with losers still talking home $1K per match.
A Lamborghini Huracán STO bundle, including Huracán STO’s engine audio, two sets of Huracán STO Wheels, a Huracán STO Decal, Player Banner, and Antenna, plus a Lamborghini Antenna, have also been added to the Rocket League Item Shop.
The Lamborghini Open and the Battle Of The Bulls will be live on Twitch and YouTube on 23-25 April.
Last week, Psyonix announced that the 2021 Rocket League World Championships are cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, online regional RLCS X Championships will take place in Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America.
AYO.NEWS says:
Rocket League is certainly going with variety when it comes to vehicle manufacturer partnerships! Its last real-world brand partnership was with Ford in January this year, when the F-150 pick-up truck was integrated into the game and the company sponsored the RLCS X Winter Split.
Until now, Lamborghini’s direct involvement in esports had been limited to realistic sim racing, in the form of The Real Race.
