TINDER TAPS PASSION FOR GAMING WITH ONE ESPORTS PARTNERSHIP

ONE Esports, the esports division of sports media company ONE Championship, has announced a partnership with popular social dating app Tinder.

The collaboration will see Tinder roll out a series of experiences for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), and Arena of Valor (AoV) fans across Southeast Asia. Tinder will also be launching a new Esports Passion initiative in the region, to help gamers and esports fans in the region connect.

Between 25 June and 7 July, Tinder will also be giving away freebies to fans across the region, including 500 MLBB diamonds to ten Indonisian members who include Esports Passion in their profile. Additionally, MLBB fans in the Philippines and Indonesia will get the chance to enter 2021 Community Tournaments, while AoV fans in Thailand and Vietnam will gain access to exclusive content from streamers TMPT VGamer and Thanh Tung Streamer, and 5 will win ONE Esports merchandise.

Gaurav Girotra, GM Southeast Asia at Tinder & Match Group, said: “More than half of our Tinder members globally are Gen Z between the ages of 18 and 25, and we know that many of them are now spending more time exploring their passion for gaming online in the aftermath of the pandemic. The introduction of Esports Passion will give Gen Z gamers another way to present themselves authentically as they look to connect with others.”

Tinder is no stranger to the world of esports, having previously partnered with organisations including Brazil-based paiN Gaming.
